Founder & Lead Therapist
Hi, my name is Renu Seshadri. Welcome to the Guiding lights!
I am a trauma-informed therapist and an EFT practitioner. I have acquired a Masters in Applied Clinical Psychology. I believe in approaching life one day at a time and focus on working with what is in my control.
Experience
Over the years, I have volunteered in various NGOs, worked with children with special needs, at hospitals helping clients deal with various mental health concerns.
I believe that empathetic listening and holding authentic space for my clients to grow are my strongest qualities. I use these qualities to foster a strong and non-judgmental rapport with my clients. My aim is to extend compassion and kindness to clients when they are unable to do so for themselves. I strive to provide help to the best of my abilities and for that I invest time in supervision, training, personal therapy and a good amount of taking care of myself.
Approach
I work with clients between the ages of 18 to 60. My practice is currently online. Specialty lies in helping with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, procrastination, self esteem issues, grief, etc.
I use a person-centered and an eclectic approach in counseling depending on the client’s needs.
Aim
I aim to equip myself with queer-affirmative therapy techniques in the near future to build an inclusive and safe space for all my clients.
Let us together embark on this journey towards healing. Allow us to be your guiding lights!

Co-founder
Hi, my name is Phalguni Mestry. Welcome to the Guiding lights!
I am the co-founder of Guiding Lights and work at the intersection of mental health, emergency care, and social impact. I believe real change happens when we focus on what we can control and build solutions that support people during their most vulnerable moments.
Experience
My journey began in creative fields as a photographer and graphic designer, and later in a design firm, where I learned the value of storytelling, observation, and human connection. Creativity helped me understand how clear and thoughtful communication can create trust and a sense of safety.
As a co-founder, I have been involved in building systems from the ground up and shaping the public voice of the organisation through branding and social media.
My personal experiences have also shown me how overwhelming and isolating life can feel when support is not easily available. These experiences shape the way I work today and strengthen my commitment to building platforms like Guiding Lights Counseling that is a space rooted in empathy, clarity, and access. I am especially motivated to simplify systems so that people can find help without added stress or confusion.
Approach
I approach my work with curiosity, resilience, and a strong sense of responsibility.
I focus on keeping things simple and human-centric. Every service we offer is designed with the person at the center, ensuring it is practical, accessible, and genuinely helpful when it matters most. I believe our work should reduce stress, not add to it, and support people at their best as well as during difficult moments.
Aim
My aim is to building inclusive, accessible systems that support mental health, I aspire to create spaces where people feel supported, informed, and empowered to take the next step, no matter how small.
